Rather than rushing off to see every famous destination, we encourage you to spend your first evening embracing the slower rhythm of life in Umbria.
Unpack your bags, pour a glass of local wine, and take in the panoramic view from one of the terraces. As the sun begins to set over the valley, you'll understand why we fell in love with this place.
When you're ready for dinner, you'll find several excellent restaurants just a few minutes away before returning to the villa for one of Umbria's unforgettable sunsets beneath the stars.
Your First Stop
Stock the Villa
One tradition has become part of nearly every trip we make to Dimora dei Mugnai.
Before settling into the villa, we almost always stop to stock up on a few essentials. Fresh bread, fruit, local cheeses, breakfast supplies, and a bottle of Umbrian wine mean we can unpack, relax on the terrace, and simply enjoy our first evening without needing to head back out.
If you're arriving between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, keep in mind that many small Italian businesses close for the traditional afternoon break (riposo). Bakeries, butchers, pharmacies, and many village shops won't reopen until later in the afternoon. Planning your shopping before or after those hours will give you the best selection.
